WRJ's 48th Assembly
sisterhood on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 2:50:07 pm Comments (0)
Members of the Leadership of Temple Beth Torah will be in attendance. Please join us for this very special event! Contact Sisterhood@templebethtorah.net for more information about our temple's involvement. Together, we can do great things!
http://www.wrj.org/Programs/Assembly2011/Default.aspx
A WRJ assembly is an extraordinary gathering full of learning, bonding, worship, and fun. It’s your biennial opportunity to connect with your peers who share your interests, concerns, love of Judaism, and the special bonds of sisterhood.
This year’s theme of “Many Dreams One Vision” is based on the assembly week’s Torah portion, Vayeshev, which describes six prophetic dreams. WRJ members come from all corners the Reform Jewish world with their own aspirations and circumstances, yet we all come together to coalesce our vision of sisterhood at assembly.
If you:
- Are involved in your sisterhood;
- Want to ensure the future of sisterhood and the Reform movement;
- Look for ways to improve your leadership skills and efficacy;
- Enjoy being surrounded by other bright and curious Jewish women ;
- Have a thirst for knowledge and a passion for sharing ideas;
Then, you need to
join us in December for Women of Reform Judaism’s 48th assembly!
Want to learn more about what happens at assembly? Check out the
preliminary schedule as well as a
report from our 2009 assembly. Still have questions? Contact
Sharon Paley, WRJ’s meeting and convention planner.

Sisterhood News February 2011

Shalom and Happy New Year,
The Sisterhood kicked off the start of the year with a new program for us, “New Year New You” in late January. Board Certified dermatologists Drs. Robin Shecter and Marianne Carroll, certified personal trainer Dina Sitomer, and certified colorist/ hair stylist Janine from Hair I Am Salon gave expert advice on how to look and feel our best.
Congratulations to the lucky raffle winners who were awarded fabulous services provided by our speakers!
It being time to collect annual Sisterhood dues, the program, open to anyone to attend, playfully suggested the following donation upon entry:
Pay your $36 Sisterhood dues –or-
2. A $5 donation –or-
3. Bring non-perishable food items for the temple's food bank collection –or-
4. Do all three
Thank you to all who attended and to our wonderful speakers who gave us a New Year lift. Thank you Andi Parker and Elizabeth Thal who greatly helped me put this event together. I enjoyed Chairing this event very much, and came away with a much-needed fresh and new-start feeling.
In addition to the Sisterhood’s Mission to band together in friendship for programs to benefit the Temple and the Jewish community, for social activities, for study, and, above all, for the growth of the individual as a person and as a Jewish woman, we try to provide something for everybody with programs that all ages will find interesting. We are very open to new people, their ideas, suggestions, and hopefully involvement.
Raffle Winners: Andi, Liz, and Dinah. AMAZING prizes! Don't miss this event January 2012!
Co-Presidents, Darlene, Jen and I hope you will join us for our upcoming events and bring friends, too.
We proudly support Women of Reform Judaism, WRJ. www.wrj.org
